The Holy Spirit Who Teaches and Reminds

The
Holy Spirit Who Teaches and Reminds
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father shall send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and shall bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).
Bible
Reading of the Year: 2 Kings 18-19
A servant of God once shared a real experience in his ministry. One day, he almost made an important decision that seemed logically good, yet there was a constant uneasiness in his heart. As he prayed, suddenly a verse of God's word that he had learned years ago appeared very clearly in his mind.
The verse talks about being cautious and waiting for God's timing. He also postponed his decision. A few weeks later, he realised that the decision he was about to make could have a bad impact. He believed that it was the Holy Spirit who reminded him through God's words stored in his heart.
This experience confirms the truth of John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit is not only present as a Comforter, but also as a Divine Teacher who actively works in the lives of believers. He teaches, guides, and reminds us of the truthfulness of God's word at the right time.
There
are several practical applications that we can do, namely:
First,
the church needs to build a habit of living in the Word. The Holy Ghost reminds
us of what we have already learned. If there are no words stored in the heart,
then it is difficult for the Holy Spirit to remind us. Therefore, the
discipline of reading, meditating, and memorising God's words becomes an
important foundation in spiritual life.
Second, the church needs to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. His voice is often soft, not forceful. He speaks through conscience, peace, or holy restlessness. In a world full of distractions, this sensitivity can only be built through a consistent prayer life and an intimate relationship with God.
Third, the church needs to be obedient when the Holy Spirit speaks. Teachings and warnings from the Holy Ghost are meaningless if they are not responded to with obedience. Obedience is proof that one is truly walking in the lead of the Spirit. Even when the Holy Spirit's direction conflicts with logic or personal desire, obedience remains a choice of faith.
The Holy Spirit is not just a theological concept, but a Person who actively guides the lives of believers every day. He is a faithful Teacher who never ceases to teach and remind us of the truth of Christ.
Prayer:
Loving
Lord God, thank you for the Holy Spirit You have given us as a Helper in our
lives. Teach us to love Your word, be sensitive to Your voice, and be obedient
when You speak. Let our lives always be led by the Holy Spirit, so that we do
not stray from Your truth. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray, Amen.🙏
