God's Love Never Runs Out
God's Love Never Runs Out
“The infinite love of the LORD, the inexhaustible mercy of his mercy, is always new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Bible Reading of the Year: Job 17-20
The Book of Lamentations was written in a very sad atmosphere. Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians. The temple of God, which was the pride of the Israelites, was burned. The city walls collapsed, the people suffered suffering, famine, and exile. In the midst of the ruins of the ruined city, the prophet Jeremiah witnessed such deep sorrow.
Humanly, the situation seems hopeless. But it was in the midst of darkness that Jeremiah uttered the extraordinary words: “Endless is the LORD's loving-kindness, and his mercy never fails.”
The Israelites did reap the consequences of their sin and rebellion against God. However, God's punishment is not a sign that His love has ended. On the contrary, God's love continues to work to restore His people. Jeremiah reminds us that every morning brings new evidence of God's never-ending grace.
The same truth applies to us today. There are times when life is filled with problems, failures, illnesses, losses, or struggles that make us wonder if God still cares. But God's Word makes it clear that His love is not dependent on our circumstances. God's love is there when life is going well or when we are in the valley of suffering.
Human love can change, but God's love remains the same. Human help may be limited, but God's grace never runs out. Every morning we see is proof that God still gives us new opportunities, strength, and hope. His faithfulness is not diminished by our weakness, and His mercy is not diminished by our multitude of faults when we come to Him with a repentant heart.
Therefore, believers do not live according to circumstances, but according to God's promises. When we look to His loving-kindness, we find reason to remain hopeful, grateful, and move forward even though circumstances have not changed.
There are three practical applications that we can do,
namely:
First,
start the day by remembering God's love. Before thinking about problems and
busyness, take a moment to give thanks for the breath of life that God has
given. Remember that His grace is always new every morning.
Second,
keep hope when facing difficulties. Do not let circumstances take over the
heart. Believe that God is at work even when we have not seen a way out.
Third, share God's love with others. The love we receive from God should flow to others through care, forgiveness, service, and constructive words.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we are grateful that Your loving-kindness never fails and Your grace never fails. When we face life's struggles, help us to keep believing in You. Teach us to see each day as a new opportunity that You give. Enable us to live in hope, lean on Your faithfulness, and share Your love with those around us. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
